Dr. Cheryl Lee-Pow  DACBSP

CCSP, ART, GISTM, FMS

Born in Trinidad and Tobago and raised in the U.S., Dr. Cheryl Lee-Pow’s journey into sports chiropractic began with her own experiences as a high school athlete. She captained her swim team and earned second place at the state level in shot put and discus—accolades that earned her “The RAM Award,” the highest athletic honor at her school.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Butler University, where she also worked as a trained EMT at Indiana University Hospital. She later graduated Cum Laude from New York Chiropractic College (now Northeast College of Health Sciences), where she held multiple leadership roles across student government, the ACA student chapter, Sports Club, and Soft Tissue Club. Selected for the college’s prestigious Honors Program, she completed clinical rotations at the Buffalo VA Hospital and served as a chiropractic student with the Buffalo Bandits professional lacrosse team—a position she continued in after graduation.

Dr. Cheryl currently serves as the team chiropractor for the DC Divas Women’s Professional Football Team and provides care for endurance athletes at events like the EX2 Adventure Races and MOCO Epic. Her sports chiropractic experience includes working at premier athletic events such as the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials, NCAA Division I Championships, the U.S. National Taekwondo Championships, Maryland Dew Tour, Nation’s Triathlon, and even the Congressional Football Game.

She holds the prestigious Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians® (DACBSP®), the highest level of sports training a chiropractor can achieve, held by fewer than 425 chiropractors in the U.S. This elite certification is held by fewer than 1% of chiropractors in the U.S., underscoring the advanced expertise and commitment of those who attain it. She also earned the Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner® (CCSP®) credential. Dr. Cheryl is certified in Active Release Technique®, Graston®, Nimmo, Spidertech kinesiotaping, Dry Needling, Erchonia cold laser therapy, and trauma biomechanics through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.

As an Adjunct Faculty member for both Northeast College of Health Sciences and Life University, Dr. Cheryl mentors chiropractic interns as they complete their final clinical year in her Rockville practice—offering them the same level of hands-on clinical exposure and mentorship that she herself benefited from during her honors rotations at the Buffalo VA Hospital and with the Buffalo Bandits. Her commitment to fostering the next generation of chiropractors is rooted in her own formative training and a deep appreciation for the value of real-world clinical immersion. She also served on the Board of Directors for Interfaith Works and supports nonprofits such as the Warrior Cry Music Project and DMV Caribbean Ridazz.

Dr. Cheryl's introduction to chiropractic came after a debilitating back injury left her unable to stand. A compassionate chiropractor opened his clinic on a weekend, diagnosed a herniated disc, and started her on the road to recovery—ultimately changing the course of her life and career. Originally planning to become a pediatrician, she chose instead to dedicate her life to chiropractic care and helping others regain strength, mobility, and vitality.

Outside of her practice, she’s a triathlete who enjoys swimming, cycling, running, scuba diving, and outdoor adventure. She brings that same energy to her patients, encouraging them to challenge their limits and thrive. Whether tackling complex clinical cases or muddy races with friends, Dr. Cheryl leads by example.

She lives in the DMV area with her wife and their two children, Nicolas and Gia, cherishing every moment spent in motion, in service, and with family.
