Care in action

See how our team helps patients move better, recover from injuries, manage pain, and get back to doing what they love.

At PowHer, our philosophy is to look beyond the area of pain and identify the underlying cause of dysfunction. We evaluate how muscles, joints, and the nervous system work together, including agonist and antagonist muscle relationships, movement imbalances, mobility restrictions, and weaknesses that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Our approach focuses on restoring proper joint mobility and flexibility, improving muscle balance and coordination, rebuilding strength, and enhancing neuromuscular control and response. Through a combination of hands-on treatment, targeted rehabilitation, and progressive exercise, we work to help your body move more efficiently, function better, and become more resilient.

We don't just want you feeling better today. We want to help you move better for the long term.

Neck Pain & Headaches

Neck pain can affect everything from turning your head to working at a computer, driving, sleeping, or exercising. Whether you're experiencing stiffness, muscle tension, headaches, or pain that travels into your shoulders and arms, we evaluate the underlying cause and develop an individualized treatment plan. Our approach may include chiropractic care, soft tissue techniques, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation to restore mobility, reduce discomfort, and improve function.

Back Pain & Sciatic

Back pain can interfere with nearly every part of your daily life, from sitting and standing to lifting, exercising, and sleeping. Whether you're dealing with acute pain, chronic discomfort, muscle tightness, disc-related conditions, or sciatica, we focus on identifying contributing factors and restoring proper movement and function. Treatment may include chiropractic care, soft tissue therapy, therapeutic exercise, and targeted rehabilitation.

Shoulder Pain & Injuries

Shoulder pain can make everyday activities challenging, including reaching overhead, lifting, throwing, or even getting dressed. Conditions involving the rotator cuff, shoulder impingement, bursitis, instability, and surrounding muscles and tendons can all affect shoulder function.

One condition we particularly enjoy helping patients with is frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis). It can be one of the most painful and frustrating shoulder conditions, significantly limiting mobility and affecting quality of life. Helping patients regain movement, reduce pain, and get back to living comfortably is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. It's a reminder of why we became doctors in the first place.

Our approach combines hands-on treatment, movement assessment, targeted exercises, and progressive rehabilitation to improve mobility, strength, and function.

Hip & Knee Pain

Hip and knee pain can affect walking, running, climbing stairs, squatting, and participating in the activities you enjoy. Whether you're experiencing joint stiffness, muscle imbalances, tendon injuries, arthritis, IT band pain, or discomfort related to sports and exercise, we evaluate how the surrounding muscles, joints, and movement patterns contribute to your symptoms. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, mobility work, strengthening, and functional rehabilitation to improve movement, stability, and overall function.

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries can happen during training, competition, or everyday athletic activity. From muscle strains and ligament sprains to overuse injuries, joint pain, and movement limitations, we help athletes recover and return to the activities they love. Our approach combines sports chiropractic care, soft tissue techniques, movement assessment, therapeutic exercise, and progressive strengthening to address injuries, improve function, and support long-term athletic performance.

Muscle Strains & Tendon Injuries

Muscle and tendon injuries can develop from sports, exercise, repetitive movements, overuse, or everyday activities. From strains and sprains to tendinopathy, muscle tightness, and sports-related injuries, we address the tissues and movement patterns contributing to your symptoms. Treatment may incorporate Active Release Techniques (ART®), Graston Technique®, dry needling, therapeutic exercise, and progressive strengthening to support recovery and help you return to the activities you enjoy.

Foot & Ankle Pain

Your feet are the foundation of your body's movement. When addressing foot and ankle pain, we believe in starting at the base first. We evaluate not only joint mobility and alignment, but also the strength and function of the entire foot and ankle complex. This includes the calf muscles as well as the smaller intrinsic muscles within the foot that play an essential role in balance, stability, and proper movement. Whether you're experiencing plantar fasciitis, heel pain, Achilles tendinitis, ankle sprains, arch pain, or discomfort while walking, running, or exercising, our approach combines hands-on treatment, mobility work, targeted strengthening, and functional rehabilitation to help restore the foundation your body depends on.

TMJ Pain

Jaw pain, clicking, popping, stiffness, and difficulty opening or closing your mouth may be associated with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. Symptoms can also contribute to headaches, facial tension, and neck discomfort. We evaluate the jaw, surrounding muscles, and related neck mechanics to develop an individualized approach that may include soft tissue techniques, mobility work, and therapeutic exercises to improve comfort and function.

Post Surgical Rehab

Recovering from surgery takes more than simply waiting for tissues to heal. A structured rehabilitation program can help restore mobility, rebuild strength, improve stability, and regain confidence in movement. Whether recovering from orthopedic surgery involving the shoulder, knee, hip, spine, or another area, we work within your surgeon's protocols and individual recovery timeline to guide your progression from early rehabilitation to functional strength and activity.

One of the advantages of rehabilitation at PowHer is access to the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill, which uses differential air pressure technology to reduce body weight during walking and running. This allows patients to begin moving and rebuilding strength with less weight-bearing stress, making it an exceptional tool for progressing rehabilitation safely and gradually. Combined with individualized exercise programs, hands-on care, and progressive strengthening, we help you work toward getting back to the activities you love.

Auto Accidents

Even a seemingly minor or low-speed motor vehicle collision can transfer significant forces to the human body, resulting in injuries that may not be immediately apparent on X-rays. Understanding how these forces affect the spine, joints, muscles, ligaments, and surrounding soft tissues is an important part of evaluating collision-related injuries.

Dr. Cheryl has studied motor vehicle collision biomechanics through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, developing a deeper understanding of how crash dynamics translate into injuries to the human body. We look beyond what is visible on imaging to evaluate soft tissue injuries, whiplash, neck and back pain, headaches, restricted mobility, and other symptoms that may develop following an accident. Our individualized treatment plans focus on reducing pain, restoring mobility, improving function, and supporting your recovery.

Worker's Comp Injuries

Work-related injuries can happen in many ways, from sudden accidents, slips and falls, and lifting injuries to repetitive movements, poor ergonomics, and prolonged positions that place stress on the body over time. Whether you've experienced an acute workplace injury or developed ongoing neck, back, shoulder, or extremity pain from the physical demands of your job, we evaluate the underlying causes and contributing factors. Our approach may include hands-on treatment, soft tissue therapy, ergonomic assessments and recommendations, mobility work, and progressive strengthening to restore function and help you safely return to work. Our goal is not only to help you recover from the injury but also to address the factors that may have contributed to it and reduce the likelihood of future problems.
